Mackie Gordon Altman Sr., 87, of Pawleys Island died Monday March 8, 2010 at his residence.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home.
He was born February 17, 1923 in Georgetown County; a son of the late John Gilbert (sic) [Gordon] Altman and the late Annie Carraway Altman.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at International Paper Company where he was employed for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are four children, Mackie (Dolly) Altman Jr. of Pawleys Island, Claude L. "Buddy" (Jenny) Altman of Murrells Inlet, Rocky G. (Joyce) Altman of Georgetown and Debra Walker of Georgetown; three brothers, Lawrence Altman, Tommy Altman and Albert Altman; 3 sisters, Josephine Heath, Edline Hucks and Tootsie Watkins; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Altman was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Casselman Altman; and two sons, Donald J. Altman and Timothy Altman.
