Mahala Lacy Clay was the daughter of Robert Craig Clay and Alice Melinda Swick (both buried at the Citizens Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK). She had the following siblings: Audry, Sally, Maggie and Mittie (Mary Lou) who married William Alfred McGuire (both buried at Citizens).

Mahala Lacy married Earl Randolph Woods (buried at the Nat. Cem.); they had a daughter: Katherine Ruth Woods (buried at the Nat. Cem.) who married Charles Leroy Woods; and Lindy Earlene Woods who married Budo Glenn Perry.

She was a telephone operator in Ft. Gibson and Amarillo. She retired from Amarillo Air Force Base when it closed in 1969; she then moved back to Ft. Gibson after retiring, where she resided a short distance from her oldest daughter and husband.
