MARTIN Nona - Pearl (Dixon) Martin, 99, born April 8, 1906, went home to be with her Lord January 17th just short of her 100th birthday. Her family and her church was the love of her life, and she was devoted to them. Nona was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Miles Ollis Martin, and son Darwin B. Martin, also predeceased by 8 sisters and 9 brothers. Survivors include her only daughter Betty Christine LaBarbera (Joe deceased) Jacksonville, son E. Morris Martin (Annette) Kiowan Island, S.C., daughterinlaw Norma Martin, Neptune Beach, Fl. and sisterinlaw Navada Dixon. Nona was lovingly known as "Nannie" to her grandchildren Marty LaBarbera (Lola) St. Augustine, FL. Jerry LaBarbera (Karen) Brenda Newcomb (Guy) Sugar Hill, Ga. Ken Martin (Michelle) Mechanicsville, N.Y. Gary Martin (Terri), Carson City, NV. Donnie Martin, Calif. Norman Blackwell (Janice) Seattle, Wa. Ann Morphew (Dick), 20 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, aswell as close friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21st at 11 A.M. in George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Rev. Donnie Miles and Rev. R. P. McCall officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
