OXFORD - Ada B. Humphrey, 93, died at 7:15 PM Thursday, Nov. 8, 1990, in Otterbein Healthcare Center; she had been ill for several years. Born in Kingsboro, TN, on June 7, 1897, she lived in Boswell before moving to Oxford in 1963. She married Homer Humphrey on Oct. 7, 1918 at Raub; he died Aug. 27, 1975, and was a long-time Benton County farmer. Mrs. Humphrey was a member of Oxford Federated Church; a member, and former chaplain, of Oxford VFW Auxiliary. She was also housekeeper for the late Dr. Virgil Scheurich of Oxford for years. Surviving is a daughter, Opal Halsema, of Lafayette; two grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister. Service Hahn Chapel, Nov. 12, the Rev. David Hummel officiating. Internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
