ROBERT "ROBIN" JACKSON PENN NICHOLSON

Robert "Robin" Jackson Penn Nicholson, 61 died Monday, Aug 8, 2005 in the VA Hospital, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, FL. Robert was born May 9, 1944, in Jacksonville, Duval County, FL to his parents, Robert Jackson Penn, Sr. and Gloria Mildred (Yancey) Penn. After Robert, Sr. died in an auto accident in 1954, his mother married Mr. Nichols Henry Nicholson, who adopted Robert and his twin sisters.

He served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne during the Viet Nam Conflict. He also served in Korea and Germany. He held a General Contractors, Electricians & Master Plumbers Licenses.

After residing in Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA, he moved to Sebastian, FL, in 1999, near one of his sisters and his mother.

His mother, Gloria Mildred (Yancey) Penn Nicholson, Sebastian, FL, sisters, Mary Jane Penn-Nicholson of Sebastian, Margit Arline (Penn-Nicholson) Hollifield of York, SC, Anna Elise (Nicholson) DiLeonardo of Coral Springs, FL, six children, Robert Jackson Nicholson III, Laura Serena (Nicholson) Ricciardi, Robert Scott Nicholson, Crystal M. (Rogers) Mace, Shannon D. Rogers, and Dawn Nicole' Rogers, and seven grandchildren, all of Georgia, survived him. His paternal aunts, Anna Jean (Penn) Kindred, Julia Brooke (Penn) Moore, Jeraldine Roberta (Penn) McCann, and Adelaide Marie "Becky" (Weissbeck) Penn, his paternal uncles, Kenneth Francis Moore, Retired Captain Arnold E. Allemand, Jr., and Major John Paul McCann, Jr., many nieces, nephews, and cousins survived him. His father, Robert Jackson Penn, Sr., his paternal grandfather, George Gibson Penn, Sr., his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Anna (Cartwright) Penn, his paternal uncle, George Gibson Penn, Jr., his paternal aunts, Jacinta Lewis (Penn) Allemand and Helen M. (Penn) Byrd, and his paternal uncles, William Earl Kindred, and Dr. Richard E. Byrd, Sr., his cousin, George Duane Penn, his nephew, Barton Celestino "Tino" Flores, and his niece, Christina Marie Flores, predeceased him. His maternal grandparents, Arlie Holden Yancey (1901-1940) and Anna Mae (Moore) Yancey, also predeceased him. Memorial Services were held on Friday, August 12, 2005, at 5:00 PM at Riverview Park, Veterans Memorial, on Indian River Dr., Sebastian, FL. Burial at Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. His original obituary was published in the TC Palm, August 11-12, 2005.
