Mrs. Isaac Bourdage Dies Friday Morning After Long Illness

Mrs. Celina Bourdage, 81, of 8 Church St., Tupper Lake, died about 11 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence State Hospital, Ogdensburg, where she had been a patient since last October.

Mrs. Bourdage had been ill since September, 1964, when she was severely injured in a fall at her home here. The funeral took place Monday morning at St. Alphonsus Church, and interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the spring.

She was born at Curran, Ontario, Dec. 11, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John St. Louis, and had made her home in Tupper Lake since girlhood. On Dec. 27, 1902 she was married at St. Alphonsus Church to Isaac Bourdage, who survives.

Mr. Bourdage, one of the old time lumbermen of the area, came to this village in 1899 from Gaspe and was in the employ of the Santa Clara Lumber Co. for many years. Later he handled logging contract as a jobber throughout this area. He retired about twelve years ago.

Surviving, besides her husband, are one son, Réal Bourdage, Tupper Lake; three grandchildren, Philip Bourdage of Rochester, Jerry, in Wichita, Kansas, and Cindy Bourdage, at home; and one great-granddaughter, Lisa Bourdage of Rochester; also one brother, Alex St. Louis, Montreal, Québec.
