As a skilled craftsman and building contractor, Harry built many houses in Platteville. He also completed many larger structures as well, including the Platteville armory. Harry enrolled in the Wisconsin State Guard on November 18, 1918, as a Private, Company M, 8th Regiment, and was honorably discharged on March 5, 1920. Harry was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church. He was a talented singer, and freely gave of his ability at many occasions. He and his wife lived at 445 Division St, Platteville, WI. Harry was hospitalized after falling and fracturing his hip in 1957. Two weeks later, he died at Municipal Hospital at the age of 71. He was buried in Platteville Hillside cemetery.
