Sabine Parish recorded it's second traffic fatality of 1969
Tuesday. John B. Chambers, almost 71, of Fisher, was killed
instantly, when the car he was driving ran into the rear of a
truck loaded with pulpwood.

The accident happened at 5:45 p.m., on Hwy 171 near Beason's
Store in Florien. The 1962 Ford truck was headed north as was the
1966 Chevrolet sedan driven by the dead man. The driver of the
truck was William E. McFarland, 33, a Florien Negro. A passenger
in the truck was George Hill, Florien Negro. Neither were
injured.

A passenger in the Chambers car, J. L. Pruitt of Fisher was
injured, and taken to Fraser Hospital.

Investigating the accident for the State Police were Sgt. Jerry
Rains, and Sgt. Charles Russell.
