Born on Sept. 22, 1887 in Lane, she was the daughter of George W. Wharton and Nancy P. Clymer Wharton. Mrs. McKinney was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Rebecca Lodge and Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Douglas R. McKinney of Groves; a brother, Lindsey Wharton of Leonard; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
