There apparently was an earlier burial in Wichita for Oliver.

Oliver F. Barr was a successful farmer in Reno County before retiring to Emporia. Oliver and Lydia are the parents of seven children, all living at this time. Mollie,the wife of John F.Bergen, a hardware merchant at Inman; Walter, who is a dental surgeon in Wichita and Hutchinson; Connie who is at home; Charles who taught school in Reno for several years and was a member of the examining board, but is now at the Kansas City Dentist School; Maude who is a school teacher in Reno County; Olla and Everett who live at home with their parents.

BODY WILL BE BROUGHT TO WICHITA, RITES, HOWEVER FOR OLIVER FRANNCIS BARR TO BE HELD AT HUTCHINSON TODAY.

Funeral services for Oliver F. Barr, 86, who died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene F. Dealy, northwest of Hutchinson, will be held 1:30pm today at the chapel of Johnson and Sons Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Pallbearers will be Earl Holt, Fred Kruger, Glen Hamms, John Dealy, George Beason and Arthur Lancaster.


Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery Mausoleum, Wichita, beside his wife who died in 1916.

Mr. Barr was born in Indiana but came to Kansas as a young man. He farmed for a time in Chase County, but spent most of 30yrs. in Buhler community, Reno County.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Charles F. Barr of Wichita, Dr. Walter G. Barr of Oklahoma City and Everett R. Barr of Emporia; four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Dealy of Hutchinson, Mrs. John F. Bergen of Inman, Mrs. H.W. Spencer of Emporia and Mrs. B.W. Hopkins of Emporia.
