Edna Oleta (West) Moore, a longtime resident of Henryetta, was born July 13, 1919 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Claude George West and Ava Venile (Johnston) West. Mrs. Moore passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 in Henryetta at the age of 92. She married Henry Moore November 14, 1938 and to this union were born two sons, Floyd and Jimmy Wayne. She was a wonderful, devoted wife and mother and loved her family dearly. Her husband Henry, as well as her brothers and their families, were avid fishermen, and Edna loved camping out at the lakes and rivers with them. She cooked many delicious campfire meals on various riversides and lakesides of Oklahoma and Texas and enjoyed every minute of it. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed fixing big meals when any or all of her family came home. She was a fun-loving Mom, Grandmother, and friend, and she always had a smile on her face. She was always right in the middle of any game or activity that was going on. She was a past member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Henryetta and a beloved member of the church ladies' group. A pan of cornbread was her specialty to take to their regular monthly luncheon meetings. Her health began to fail after falling and breaking her hip, and she suffered many set-backs through the years thereafter. Her family though each occurrence was going to be her last, but she was a strong fighter and managed to bounce back each time. Then in 2006, she was unable to stay in her home any longer and she entered Fountain View Manor and resided there until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Ava West, her husband Henry Moore, 2 brothers, Clyde West and O.C. "Crockett" West, as well as an infant granddaughter, Lisa Ann Moore. She is survived by two sons, Floyd Moore and wife Scharlene of Nicoma Park, Ok; Jimmy Wayne Moore of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Kevin Moore and Cynthia Jones both of Oklahoma City; Step-granddaughter, Kari Tilley of Nicoma Park, Ok; Four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kimberly, Cheyenne, and Dakota; one great-great-grandchild; As well as nieces, nephews, a host of friends and other relatives. Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Salem Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Binion, officiating. Services are entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service.
