Dola was a schoolteacher in Uhrichsville, Ohio for many years. After her father's death in 1898, she continued to live with her mother. (The 1900 census shows them together on the west side of town.) She married Charles C. Klein (1863-1919) on June 30, 1904 and their only child, Franklin C., was born in 1906. In 1910 they were all together with Dola's mother. C.C. died in 1919 and the 1920 census shows Dola, Franklin and Dola's mother still together. (She died in 1921.) By 1930, Dola had remarried to Verd M. Parks and was living in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He died in 1933. She lived with her son, Frank, in Knoxville, in her later years and where she died.
