Alonzo Bowen lived in Boone County IN where his grandfather, John A Bowen (b 1808), helped found the Pleasant View Church. Many of the Bowen family are buried in the cemetery. He moved to Nebraska with his family in the early 1880's. Several of his siblings later moved to Missouri.

Alonzo married Etta Canaday on May 17, 1897 in Carroll County Missouri. He married Nora J Gray on September 1, 1901 also in Carroll County Missouri. Sadly, Alonzo had no children that survived to adulthood.

After the passing of his father, Alonzo went with his brother Emanuel to Nebraska to bring their mother back to Missouri. It is likely that she (Patsy) spent time at both Alonzo's and Emanuel's home.
