He was section foreman for the Northern Pacific railway when that road built its branch line to the old coal mining town of Gebo, near the present site of Fromberg. After leaving the employ of N.P. he engaged in ranching until his retirement in 1942.
Mr. Newcomb was survived by four daughters, Mrs. Odessa Elliot and Mrs. Hattie Skinner, both of Roberts, Mrs. Florence Snow of Midwest, Wyo., and Mrs. Thelma Stephens of Outlook, Wash., and two sons, Ambrose Newcomb Jr., and Milo, both of Bridger.
