Mayville Monitor, Thurs., Sept. 23, 1954, pg. 1 -- 5-Year Old Boy Dies Following Accident -- Richard Kukes, son of Mr and Mrs Harry Kukes died in Lapeer County General Hospital Monday after being hit by a car. The accident occured on Millington Road. Mrs. Ruth Bryce, Silverwood told North Branch Police that the child darted in front of the car and she could not stop in time to avoid hitting him. She was not held. Funeral services were held today (Thursday) from Blackmore and Tubbs Chapel. Burial was in Rich Cemetery.
