Rita Mae Ossig, age 94, of Piedmont, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Piedmont. She was born November 22, 1917 at the Peachtree Community near Piedmont. She was a homemaker and a long time member of the Peachtree General Baptist Church. She was married to Paul E. Ossig July 3, 1938 at Peachtree and he passed away June 9, 2002.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, Lander and Ida Mae (Eaton) Henson, 3 brothers, Carl Henson, Ralph Henson, Leonard Henson, 5 sisters, Lola Green, Estelle Barnes, Ethel McDonald, Alberta Bartlett and Dora Perkins.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Moreland and her husband Donald, of Jefferson City, MO, 2 sisters, Perma Ezell and Dorothy Farrell, both of Piedmont, 2 grandchildren, Pamela Barrett and her husband Brian, of Osage Beach, MO, Glenn Moreland, of Nashville, TN and 1 great grandson, Cooper Barrett.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Peachtree Church Cemetery.
Memorials have been requested to the Alzheimers Association.
