Frederick (Davids) Davis took over the Widow Davis Tavern on the Marbletown Road from his mother who operated it after his father's death. Town meetings were held there for over 100 years starting June 19, 1733.


Frederick Davis was named for his maternal grandfather, Frederic Mouritz. He was baptised in the Old Dutch Church of Kingston (Hoes 1265) with sponsors of Jan Kok, Jr. and Utta Mouritz. His will was proved March 24, 1783 the executors of the will were, son, Jacobus Davis & David Bevier [Fernow 5
