ADA- Services for Opal Alene Ross, 81, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pontotoc United Methodist Church, the Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial follows at the Pontotoc Cemetery.

Mrs. Ross died Dec. 31, 1994, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1913, at Coachworth, Okla., to Nicholas and Nettie Fowler Martin.

She came to this area in 1971 from Pontotoc, having moved to Pontotoc from Morris, Okla.

She attended grade school in California.

She was the owner and operator of the Ross Grocery in Pontotoc for more than 30 years and retired in March 1979 from the Valley View Regional housekeeping department.

She married Arthur Ross on May 10, 1927 at Tishmingo. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.

She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include a sister, June Garber, Sacramento, Cali.; a daughter-in-law, Billie Ross, Choctaw, Okla.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ross, and a daughter, Carolyn Ross.

Bearers are Bobby Ross, Mike Ross Sr., Mike Ross Jr., Floyd Ross, Justin Ross, and Larry Shuler.
Criswell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
