She was married at her home October 8, 1848 to William P. Smith and moved to Pike, where three children were born to them.
In the fall of 1859 they came with their family to Shakopee, Minnesota where they resided until the spring of 1861, when they removed to Alden, Wisconsin. In 1863 they moved to the place known as the "Barnes Farm" in Roscoe township and in 1865 they purchased the farm at Roscoe Center where she has since resided. Mr. Smith died August 21, 1882 and on July 16, 1883 she married Norman L. Dickinson, who survives her.

Such in mearest outline is the life of our dear friend and neighbor - a loving wife and devoted mother, loyal to her friends and helpful to her neighbor - a women of cheerful energetic temperment, hopeful and happy in disposition, abounding in good works and delighting in dispensing hospitality.
In earlier years, while strenght was still hers, no one in the whole community was more frequently was more frequently called on in time of sickness and death, no one could respond more readly than she or more gently and sympathetically give the aid needed. In later years her time was given more closely to her home and intimate friends and the value and scope of this part of her life was seen in the sincere grief of the large number who were with her in her last moments.
The closing weeks of her life were full of pain and weariness butal was borne with real Christian fortitude and she passed on to her eternal home in perfect peace.
The funeral services were conducted by Reverand W. E. Hawkins of Zumbrota at the home in Roseco Center, Tuesday afternoon. Despite stormy skies, many relatives and friends met to do honor to one who will always be held in loving rememberance in the community.
