Services for Edna Louise (Montgomery) Beck will be 2:00 p.m., Tues., June 12, 2012, at Claremore Assembly of God. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Edna passed away Fri., June 8, 2012 at the age of 94.
Born June 4, 1918 in Claremore, OK to Boyd Ira Montgomery and Lillian Louise Sparrow, Edna married John L. Beck on March 5, 1938 in Claremore. Together they pastored several different Assembly of God churches across Oklahoma and in 1988 they moved back to Claremore to retire. They had three children. He preceded her in death in January, 1999.
Edna is survived by her children Paul David Beck and his wife, Betty, of Broken Arrow, and Carrie Lou Shupert and her husband, Bill, of Sallisaw, son-in-law Don Wilburn of Stroud; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Montgomery and his wife, Nora Dean, of Monett, MO, and a sister, Phyllis Schultze and her husband, Howard, of Tulsa; plus a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Mary Janice, brothers, Ira, Tom and Percy Montgomery and her sister, Juanita Wilkerson.
