John was a son of Carl "Charles" Yensen (1838-1921) and Louise "Lizzie" Preiss (1843-1902). He was born in Normanby Twp; in 1865.

When he reached the age of 25 years he found his bride named Anna Hopf. They were married in Bentinck Twp; Grey County on Dec. 23, 1890. Marriage Register #004164.

John died in Kitchener, Waterloo County at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 21 days. His cause of Death was;
Myocardial Failure due to Diabetes.

He was buried in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery on Nov. 18, 1934.
