He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Betty Acree Bearden; a brother and wife, Joseph and Sue Bearden; daughter-in-law Kayron Bearden; daughter and husband Patricia and Keith Armes; daughter and husband Deborah and Robert Cranston; son and wife Andrew and Paige Bearden; and daughter and husband Kay and Larry Brite; nine grandchildren, Thomas Armes, Robert J. Bearden Jr., Kenneth Armes, Lauren Miller, Allen Bearden, Mitchell Bearden, Annie Bearden, Nick Brite, and Neal Brite; and eight great grandchildren. Keith's oldest son, Robert J. Bearden, preceded him in death. Keith was a faithful and devoted member of the Cedar Grove Church of Christ for 38 years, acting in various capacities for the church over the years, including Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer. Keith worked for Colonial Stores for 34 years, operated "Bearden Greenhouses", a nursery business in Fairburn for 20 years, drove a school bus for the Fulton County School System for 10 years, and had various hobbies such as bee-keeping and woodworking.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Ross Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn, GA. Those wishing may send an online condolence at www.parrottfuneralhome.com.
