Achsah died from a paralyic stroke while visiting her niece, Mrs. L. A. Tanner, at Whitewater. Remains taken to Troy for interment. (obit, news, Elkhorn Independent, Jul 27, 1882)
Achsah's estate was administered in probate by her son, George, and was complete on September 27, 1883, in Walworth County, Wisconsin. Since Achsah died without a will, her estate was inventoried and appraised. Included in the estate were 375 acres, valued $13,956, and goods valued $3,356, including Milwaukee National Bank Stock valued $500, five horses valued $510, two mules valued $150, ten head of cattle valued $320, nine hogs valued $135, three hundred fifty sheep valued $1400, farm equipment, and home furnishings.
