Annie Beth Shaw Fricks

Mrs. Annie Beth Shaw Fricks, age 85, of Shannon, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Fricks was born in Floyd County, Georgia on April 24, 1927, daughter of the late Prince Shaw and the late Clara Ellen Lanham Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her aunt & uncle who raised her, Daisy & Willie Lanham, and by 3 sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Minshew, Mrs. Beatrice Crowell, and Mrs. Louise Andrews. Mrs. Fricks was a member of the Shannon United Methodist Church. She worked for several years at Klopman Mills and then later retired from the cafeteria at Model High School.

Survivors include her husband, James Tillman Fricks, Sr., to whom she was married on June 10, 1949; 2 daughters, Ms. Judy A. Fricks Smith, Cookeville, TN, and Mrs. Sara Ellen Fricks Harrison, and her husband, Anthony Dale Harrison, Shannon; a son, James "Tillman" Fricks, Jr., and his wife, Wendy, Kingston; a step-daughter, Sabrina Carroll, Shannon; 6 grandchildren, Erin Smith Leap, Cookeville, TN, Wesley Lee Harrison, Shannon, Glenn Eric Harrison, Shannon, Tillman Dean Fricks, Kingston, Kara Hale, Rome, and Kelsey Hale Bishop, Rome; a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Robinson, Lindale; a brother, Harold Shaw, Rome; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Fuller and the Rev. Alvin Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday from 1pm until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at each of their respective residences.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday at 2:30pm and include: Wesley Harrison, Eric Harrison, Dean Fricks, Randy Whitlock, Nathan Self, and Wesley Keith.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
