James Burns, son of Archibald Burns and Helen McKay. Married Agnes Yuille (a third cousin)08 Mar 1805 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland at the Yuille home. Seeking opportunity, James Burns and his brother-in-law Gavin Yuille were the first to leave their loved ones and go to the United States. James was an architect, Master Mason, and owned a stone quarry in Hamilton.
