Floyd (Florian) Edmund Stancyk was born in Marshall County to John Stancyk and Anna Spotanski, farmers who immigrated from Poland. Floyd grew up in Warren in a large Catholic family with six sisters and five brothers. He began his career as an auto mechanic, later purchasing land and becoming a farmer. He married Adele Schantzen in 1933 and they had seven children, six daughters and the youngest a son. He is now grandfather to 14 and great grandfather to 16 children. Floyd loved family gatherings and playing music.
