Little is known of Eunice Williams, but most researchers agree that Eunice was the daughter of Capt Veach(Vetch) Williams and his wife Lucy Walsworth of CT.

Eunice married Arunah Metcalf in CT in 1793 and they had two children, Nathan and Orlando before coming to the wilderness of Otsego County around 1800.

They joined a large family group heading west and settled on a high ridge above Otsego Lake which became known as Metcalf Hill. Here Eunice gave birth to three more children, Mary, Susannah and Lucien T.

Eunice died, according to her obituary in 1844, of a lingering and painful illness at seventy years of age.
