In the 1851 census Ogden Miller was a farmer at Stamford Township, Welland County, near Niagara Falls (Div. 2, p. 59). His wife is Mary. They had children, Emmeline, 22, Maria Jane, 20, and Catherina, 18. Nearby was a Gilbert Miller age 31 with wife, Elizabeth, and daughter Emma (Div. 2, p. 45) He indicates that he was born in the US.
Not far away is a Daniel W. Miller 26, with a widow, Rebecca Miller, 52, G. Miller 17, Albert Miller, 14 and Lori Miller, 4 (Div. 2, p. 53).

In the 1861 census at Stamford Township, Welland County, (Div. 2, p. 44) is Ogden Miller, 74, farmer born in the US with his wife Mary, 72, born at Upper Canada and children, Emily, 34, Mariah, 32, and Francis C., 26. Emily is listed as a Baptist, the rest are Wesley Methodists. With them is a "coloured man", James Alligood, 24, a labourer born in the US. They live in a one story frame house. The Agriculture census (p. 34) indicates that the family farms on Lot 137. They have 92 acres with 77 acres under cultivation. 58 acres are under crops and 15 acres under pasture, 4 acres under garden and 15 acres under wood. Cash value of the farm is listed at $4000. They are living near the family of Nelson Pew. The 1861 Agriculture Census indicates a Samuel Pew living nearby. Nearby at (Dist. 3, p. 28) is Gilbert Miller, 40, with wife, Elizabeth, 38, and daughter Emma, 11, all born at Upper Canada. He is a yeoman. They are E. Methodists.
At (Dist. 4, p.63) is Samuel Pew, 53, Farmer, with wife, Susan, 42, and children, Robert, 15, Milton, 3, Isabella, 21, Sarah, 18, Alice, 17, Jane, 9, and Clary, 7, all born at Upper Canada.
There is a Robert McIntyre, 46, married to Mary, 40. Both born at Ireland (p. 19)
In 1861 at Thorold Township, Welland County (Dist. p. 43) is Ogdon Miller, 29, (since 1859), born Upper Canada, with wife, Anna, 25. With them is a coloured person, Joseph, Turney, 50, labourer, imm. 1847.

No other Miller families are nearby. James Pew has a wife Almira Pew, born circa 1821.
