He was united in marriage September 14, 1957 to Edith Rose Willson of Bucyrus, Missouri at the home of Mrs. Sadie Miles.
Troy grew up in Eunice, Missouri and attended Pine Flat School. He served in the United States Army and was a combat veteran of the Korean War. Troy retired as a maintenance mechanic at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, restore antique vehicles, and travel. He especially enjoyed outdoor activities including creekside dinners with the family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; four sisters, Vera Stark, Velma Bailey, Tressie Pursifull, and Alida Holt; and five brothers, Harry Boyd, Wade Boyd, Joseph Boyd, Leyburn Boyd, and Ottis Boyd. He is survived by one sister, Dovie Garrett, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home October 3, 2019 with pastor Benjamin Pursifull officiating. Burial is in the Union Chapel Cemetery, Eunice, Missouri.
