Gwendolyn Muriel Worthington

Mrs. Gwendolyn Muriel Worthington, age 85, 3126 Cedartown Highway, Rome, passed away Saturday evening, March 10, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Worthington was born in Floyd County on May 21, 1926, daughter of the late Grover C. Fuller and the late Eunice Cordle Fuller. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Ezzell in March, 1976, by her step-mother, Murtis Fuller, by 4 sisters, Edith Pledger, Montine Sutton, Betty Graham, and Miriam McGowan, by a brother, Clarence Fuller, by a step-sister, Jane Cromer, and by a step-brother, Billy Jack Fuller. Mrs. Worthington was employed for a number of years with Trend Mills here in Rome and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindale.

Survivors include her loving husband, Charlie D. Worthington, to whom she was married on May 7, 1977; a son, Dennis Ezzell, and his wife, Susan, Pensacola, FL; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Kathy Wilson, and her husband, Mike, Rome, and Mrs. Elaine Tanner, and her husband, Sam, Cumming; 2 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Agan, and her husband, Rev. Lawrence, Lindale, and Mrs. Martha Smith, and her husband, James, Watkinsville; a brother, Rufus Fuller, and his wife, Barbara, Rossville; a step-sister, Mrs. Ann Collello, Pensacola, FL; 3 step-brothers, Jerry Fuller, and his wife, Mary, Randell Fuller, and Ted Fuller, all of Rome; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2pm at the graveside in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Her brother, Rufus Fuller will deliver the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Central Plaza, P. O. Box 225, Rome, GA 30161.
