COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 06/07/2012 - BRUCE, SHARON, 61, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, cookouts, bingo, gambling at the boat, and working at Walnut Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Blanche Bruce; five brothers; five sisters; one granddaughter, Destinie; and her significant other, Mike King. Left to cherish her memory are her children: son, Scotty (Kim); daughters, Carla (Allen), Martha (Craig), and Renee; grandchildren, Candace, Tiffani, Kyah, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Myles, Kloie, Ryle, and Araya; three sisters, Martha (Carl), Violet (Robert), and Joyce (Leslie); longtime companion, JoJo Devore; a loving father-in-law, Charles King; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be held at J.B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 West Market Street on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2-8 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 9-11 a.m., with ceremony at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Saint Stephens Cemetery at 1808 South Preston Street.
