ANKENY, Iowa – Hattie Wilson, 91, of Ankeny, Iowa, formerly of Miller, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001 at Polk City Manor in Polk City, Iowa.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reck Funeral Home in Miller, with the Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be in Morningside cemetery in Ree heights.

Hattie Menning was born June 30, 1910, at Springfield to John and Rena (Kline) Menning. She grew up and attended school in Springfield. In the 1920s, she moved with her family to Miller.

On Feb. 10, 1932, she married Cornelius Wilson at Miller. They farmed in the Miller area for 40 years, until their retirement in 1972.

After her retirement, she was a seamstress. In 1995, she moved to Ankeny.

She is survived by two daughters, Norma (Walter) Peterman and Maxine Trabing, both of Ankeny; two sons, George (Judy) of Cannon Falls, Minn., and John (Sandy) of Denver; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Menning of Pierre; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
