Agnes Margaret Parr was born in Sharon, Kansas to Joseph and Anna Ricke on September 8, 1917, the youngest of eight children. She passed away on August 24, 2010, at the age of 92.
Agnes married Robert Parr in 1937. Shortly after marrying, they moved from Kansas to Newberg, Oregon, eventually making their home and raising their family on their farm in McMinnville.
She will forever be remembered as a hardworking wife, mother, and grandmother, with a generous heart and uplifting spirit, who loved to laugh. She was fond of music, and was often humming the tune to the song she fancied at the moment. She was an intense bingo player, known to be steadfast in the rules of the game. She also adored dancing with her soulmate Robert, and is certain to be gracefully waltzing with him in heaven.
Agnes was preceded in death by husband, Robert, in 1997.
She is survived by children, Judy Baker, (Jerry), Ronald Parr, (Sadie), Larry Parr, (Donna), Joan Wiebke, (Marvin), Bob Parr, (Cathy), Marilyn Mardock (John), Rick Parr, (Lucy); 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, August 30th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Chapel of Macy & Son.
