Funeral services for Jim Ander Ansley, 97, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Ansley passed away at his daughter's home in Cairo, GA, on Friday, September 14, 2018.

Mr. Ansley was born on October 2, 1920, in Cairo, GA, to the late William A. Ansley and Margaret Johnson Ansley. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII in France and Germany. On February 2, 1946, he married Madie "Tiny" Joiner Ansley, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2008. He worked with Sunnyland Packing and later he and his wife ran a convenience store in Cairo. He was a member of the Gordon Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughter, Janie A. Cassels (Jim) of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Dawn N. Ansley of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Tommy Cassels of Cairo, GA, Mariea Suggett (Robert), Timothy Cassels (Cherie), both of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Jake Cassels, Callie Cassels, both of Cairo, GA; Kimberly D. Alderman, Kelsey Allen, Ansley Allen, William Hester, Aviana Hester, all of Thomasville, GA; great-great-grandson, Carter Alderman of Thomasville, GA; and special care-givers, Barbara, Rutha, Mary and Shirley.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; son, Bobby J. Ansley; granddaughter, Kimberly Ansley; brothers, Willie Ansley, Henry Ansley, David Ansley; and a sister, Rhetta Jane Nicholson.
