Guy F. Monroe Rites Tuesday at Charles City
CHARLES CITY - Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, for Guy F. Monroe, 69. He died Sunday night at his home here following a cerebral hemorrhage. Burial was in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, near Charles City, with the Hauser Funeral Home in charge.
He had been a employee of the Oliver Corporation until his health failed 12 years ago. He had lived in Charles City most of his life and was a member of the First Christian CHurch and the Knights of Pythias.
He was born Sept. 7, 1890, in Floyd County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Monroe. On May 31, 1911, he was married to Geneva Hills at New Hampton. Surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Loyle Zierath, Cedar Rapids; John and Stanley Monroe, both of Charles City; eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Charles W. Cross, Charles City.
