Nella Mae Vinson Townsend age 93 of Lester, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Townsend was born February 16, 1919 in Limestone County to James Fred Vinson and Nancy Weldon Vinson.
Services for Mrs. Townsend are Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Randy Robertson and Richard Durham officiating.
Mrs. Townsend was a member of Hester's Chapel Church of Christ. She retired from Jackson Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Jim Townsend and wife Marline of Morris, AL; daughters, Nancy Burnett of Brierfield, AL and Patricia Lovell and husband Mickey of Athens; grandchildren, Alan Townsend of Birmingham, AL, Marla Townsend of Morris, AL, Marc Townsend and wife Lauren of Shelby County, AL, Kerry Loveless and wife Melissa of Jemison, AL, Karla Loveless of Brierfield, AL, Kris McCutcheon of Montevallo, AL, Belinda Hudson and husband Brian of Anderson, AL, Clint Lovell and wife Joye of Athens, AL and Justin Lovell and wife Casey of Athens, AL; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; nieces Joyce Dean McGill, Dorothy Eubanks and Billie Hyatt; nephew, James W. Gray.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nancy Vinson, husband, Tyson Townsend, grandsons, Ken and Kelvin Loveless, sister, Mildred Gray, brother Melvin Vinson and son-in-law Bill Burnett.
