Amos served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, retired from Armco Steel with 34 years of service and faithfully served the Lord, his wife and family.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC with Dr. Roger Nix and Dr. Richard Childress officiating.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service in the New Hope Baptist Church parlor from 1:00 to 1:45 pm.
Burial: Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603 with military honors
Surviving: Devoted Wife of 62 years: Jean Adcock; son, Al Adcock and wife, Donna of Raleigh; daughter: Jane A. Moorhead and husband, Fred of Burton, TX; grandchildren: Dana Parker and husband, Sam, Kristin Adcock, Mitchell V Adcock, Peggy Basdeo and husband, Brett; great-grandchildren, Samantha Jane Parker, Carl M. Parker, two-week old, Amos W. Parker; A host of special nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by brothers, Mitchell C. Adcock and S.P. Adcock; and sisters, Mary Belle Currin, Mozelle Bailey, Lida Adcock, Annie Dean Goodman.
The family extends our sincere appreciation to the caregivers, supportive family and friends, especially, Allison Richardson for the loyal and dedicated service in caring for Amos during the past years.
