When Kent arrived in Vietnam he was assigned
to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine
Regiment, 3rd Marine Division.
Kent died as a result of a fatal gunshot wound
to the left thigh from rifle fire, when Bravo
Company engaged hostile forces in the vicinity
of Hill 861.
Survived by his father & stepmother,Clarence
G & Nancy W Leonard Jr, his brother; Carl and
sister; Lee Ann Leonard all PO Box 332, Dona
Ana, NM.
Mother was deceased; Letha Geraldine Lee
Leonard.
