He married Beatta C. Speltz June 28, 1941 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Rollingstone. They operated a trucking business until 1962. In 1955 William purchased an Anheuser-Busch beer distributionship which he operated as Schott Distribution Co., until his death. After his wife died he moved to Rochester in 1975 and to St. Charles in 1991.

Bill was survived by 4 sons and one daughter, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a special friend, one sister and two brothers.
