THURMAN, MARIETTA MAE (SWEASY), 90, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Rockford Manor. She was born in Bloomfield, KY to John and Naomi (Greer) Sweasy. She was co-owner of Thurman Electric Service for over 40 years. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Leitchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur C. Thurman; a son, Donald Thurman; and one sister, Gladys Webb.

Survivors include her children, Harold R. Thurman, Barbara Hernandez (John), Judy T. Evans and Cathy Petty (Rick); nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and her loving companion, Michael James.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 1 - 9 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy: Alzheimer's Association.
