"Miss Rosa Freeney was the first daughter born to Elijah and Maria Fooks Freeney. Born in 1863 she lived on the Edge View Farm until the death of her father, then moved into the town of Delmar.
In the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census she is shown as living on South Street (now Maryland Avenue) and her sister, Matilda, is living with her. Six months after she was recorded in the 1930 she would die from cancer and be buried at the Freeney/Hearne Cemetery.
She and her sister, Matilda Freeney, owned a number of pieces of land in Delmar. In 1917 she had a telephone (#43-2 Freeney, Miss Rosa L) one of only about 45 private residences that had a phone at that time.
