Diedrich August Teebken was born in Oldenberg, Germany on February 20, 1880. He emigrated to the United States August 1900. He was united in marriage to Martha Harms March 18, 1908, who preceded him in death May 13, 1920. To this union eight children were born: Gertrude, Mrs. Adolph Paradies, of Valley, Nebraska; Hugo, of Independence, Kansas; Harry, of Fremont, Nebraska; Wilhelm of Wisner and Elmer of Torrance, California; fifteen grandchildren and on great grandchild. Three children are deceased, Alvena, John, and an infant in childhood. In 1925 he was married to Marie Geu, who passed away November 4, 1957. Dick, the village blacksmith, as he was called by his many friends, worked on several farms until 1915, when he moved to Wisner to follow the trade he had learned inGermany, blacksmithing. About a year ago he retired. He was a member of the Wisner A.F. and A.M. Lodge.
