Rebecca Tilton was born in Hocking county, Ohio, October 21, 1835. The early part of her life was spent in her native state and on February 7, 1856 she united in marriage to Henry Bone. To them was born one daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Alden of Montana. Four years later she immigrated to Wisconsin, where she lived until the Spring of 1913. September 21, 1863, she was married to Abraham Smith. To this union were born two children, one son, dying in childhood and Eliza Smith Hawley, who passed away several years ago. Deceased was again married on January 1, 1870 to George Day. To them was given one son, William Henry Day of Ohio. Mrs. Day was a woman of strong, upright character, living a long useful life. In the spring of 1913 she removed to Montana and in April last she fell, fracturing a hip, never recovering the use of her lower limbs and ever since has been a cripple. The end came very gently and peacefully December 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alden near Gibson, Montana. Her age was 80 years, 1 month and 13 days. The remains were brought here, funeral Sunday last, conducted by Rev. Rutter.
