Thelma "Irene" Lacy, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away June 3, 2012.

She was born December 9, 1927 in Indianapolis to Horace Eugene and Flossie Marie McGinnis.

Irene graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

She worked for Standard Grocery and retired from RCA.

Irene was a member of Greenwood Community Church. Her husbands, George W. Nixon, Billie G. Scott, Wilbert I. "Irv" Lacy; son, Ronald W. Nixon; brothers, George, Lloyd, and Cecil McGinnis; daughter-in-law, Vickie Lacy, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Darla B. (Paul) Straub, Timothy D. (April) Nixon; daughter-in-law-, Janet Nixon; stepchildren, Wilbert I. (Cindy) Lacy, Lynda Curtin, Cindy Perkins, Ronald W. Lacy, William E. (Regina) Lacy; numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
