Herbert Franklin DeWees Sr. 61, of 14020 Valley Blvd., Fontana. died Saturday at a San Bernardino hospital. A native of Gober, Tex., he had lived in Fontana 14 years.
He was a linesman for 36 years, having retired from the Southern California Edison Co. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include the widow, Edna R.; two sons, Herbert Franklin DeWees Jr., of Fontana, and Robert L. DeWeese, of Houston, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Gale, of Denton, Tex.; five brothers, Claude, of Vinta, Okla.. Urdie, of Muskogee, Okla., Lee of Dennison, Tex., and Add and William J., both of Dallas, Tex.; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Lauderale, of San Antonio, Tex., and. Mrs. Peggy Fallis, Mrs. Margaret Dodson, Mrs. Jennie Mae Witt and Mrs. Gence Denny, all of Dallas; and eight grandchildren.
Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary of Fontana will forward the body Monday to Sparkman-Brand Mortuary of Dallas for services. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call at Dickey Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Originally interred at Oakland Cemetery in Dallas. Was moved to Roselawn Memorial Park on May 1st, 1964.
