William C. Yates, 85, of McLoud, Oklahoma, formerly of Helena, Arkansas, passed away June 2, 2012 in McLoud.

He was born January 31, 1927, at Nodena, Mississippi Co., Arkansas, the son of Chester Sylvester Yates and Elsie Ray Ellis Yates, both of whom are buried at Blue Eye Cemetery in Blue Eye, Stone Co., Missouri.

He is survived by Amanda Reynolds Yates Morton and their children, Jimmy Don Yates (Connie) of McLoud, Melvin Yates (Martha) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Janie Mann (Mickey) of Norman, Oklahoma and Kathy Wyatt (Fred) of Midwest, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Tiny Hershberger of McKinleyville, California, Ray Yates of Dothan, Alabama and Clay Yates of Central Point, Oregon.

Services for William Yates will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, AR.
