Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Sat. Oct. 20, 1951. ROY GALLAGHER, ST. CLOUD, DIES; RITES PLANNED. Operator of Village Tavern, Native of County, Expries at 54; Ill Months. Roy G. Gallagher, 54, operator of a tavern at St. Cloud, a World War I veteran and a native of the Town of Eldorado, died at 5 a.m. today at St. Agnes hospital after several months of illness. The son of Hugh and Ellen Gallagher, he was born Oct. 29, 1896, and was married in this city on Nov. 22, 1941, to Delores Wicks, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary James, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Scharge and Mrs. George Dellger, both of the city, and a brother, Joseph Gallagher, city. Mr. Gallagher was a member of the Fond du Lac aeire of Eagles, the Fond du Lac County Tavernkeepers association and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Funeral services will beheld Monday at 9 a.m. at the Zacherl funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Gallagher, who died Saturday, were held today at 9 a.m. at the Zacherl funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's church, the Rev. George C. Eilers officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Woodrow Roblee, Ernest Nelson, Ralph Rosenberg, Dan Gaffney, Charles Deliger and Edwin Bergin. Military rites were conducted, with Tony Schantz and Edson Stubbs serving as color guards, A.F. Johnson and Ray Howard as color bearers. Captained by L.E. McEnroe, the firing squad consisted of Howard Schroeder, Robert McIntosh and Max Schmult. David Laehn was bugler. Those form away attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Goertz, Wausau; Frank and Dan Gaffney and Mrs. Charles Fahey, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Pfund, Appleton; William Pfund and Lucille, Sherwood; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beyers, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Piper, new Holstein, and others form nearby communities.
