Gordon was born in Aitkin and raised in Minnesota. He and sister Jessie went to California and both met their future spouses and married there, remaining in California.
Gordon and Beverly were married at the Little Chapel of the Dawn in Santa Monica on March 10, 1944. Their children are Cheryl, Dennis, and Kathleen.
Gordon worked in the aircraft industry. He lived in Palmdale for many years, and also in California City.
Beverly passed away in 1977. Gordon met Martha and married in 1981. She passed away in 1993, leaving him once again a widower.
His children survive him.
