Ried Neve passed away at LaVerna Village in Savannah, MO. Ried was born in Beresford, SD to Anders V. and Dora L. Neve. He graduated from Dana College and Trinity Seminary in Blair, NE. Ried served in the United States Navy and was a Parish Pastor and Chaplain in Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado. Following his retirement he served as an interim and visiting pastor, and was a major fundraiser with Habitat for Humanity. Ried was an active member of Lord of Love Lutheran Church and a member of their brass ensemble, Omaha, NE and a member of the First Lutheran Church, St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Aster, Paul and Alton Neve; two sisters, Marlyn Nyegaard and Ruth Petajan. Ried married Eunice E. Petersen on June 2, 1948 in Ruskin, NE. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include four daughters, Juel Pierce (Jim), St. Joseph, MO, Deb McWhirter (Dave), Allison, IA, Pat Tinnel (Jack), Kansas City, MO, Susan Hettinger (Charles), Westminster, CO; seven grandchildren, Sarah Pierce, Matt Tinnel (Jenny), Elizabeth Pierce (Christian), Nick Tinnel (Sarina), Ross McWhirter (Jenny), Dana and Lisa Hettinger; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Pierce, Madelyn McWhirter, John Jack Tinnel; one brother, Lloyd Neve, Blair, NE.
MEMORIAL SERVICE 11am Monday at the First Lutheran Church. VISITATION will begin after 2pm Sunday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5-7pm.
