Frederick W. Dean came to the US ca 1820/21. He first lived in Detroit MI, where he married a widow, Barbara Roon Troy, with three children. They had six children of their own between 1828 and 1839 (or 1840), all born in Detroit except for the last, who was born in Ontario Canada.
The family moved to Niagara Falls, then Lewiston NY, ca 1848. Frederick Dean was a butcher and owned a meat market, grocery store, and livery stable.
Frederick and Barbara Dean are buried in the Dean plot in Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls. Their records are in the cemetery office, but there was no stone for them. My husband and I purchased this stone in 1988, during our first genealogy visit to the area.
